About Cyprus
Cyprus, a picturesque island nation in the eastern Mediterranean, is renowned for its stunning landscapes, crystal-clear waters, and rich history. With a pleasant Mediterranean climate, it’s a popular destination for tourists seeking sun and relaxation. The island also offers a blend of cultures and traditions, making it a unique and welcoming place for visitors. Cyprus is well-known for its thriving tourism industry, historical sites like ancient ruins and medieval castles, and its delectable cuisine that fuses Greek and Middle Eastern flavors. Additionally, Cyprus serves as a hub for international business and investment, making it a dynamic and versatile destination that caters to both leisure and economic interests.
Cyprus Golden Visa Program
In 2013, Cyprus introduced the Fast Track Permanent Residence Permit program, aiming to attract foreign investments by offering Cyprus Golden Visas to investors. This program allows foreign nationals to secure Permanent Residence Permits (PRPs) in a much quicker and more streamlined manner compared to the standard immigration process.
This initiative is designed to be one of the fastest and most straightforward investor programs in Europe, allowing applicants to obtain their permits in just two months. To qualify, investors need to buy a newly constructed property on the island valued at a minimum of EUR 300,000, inclusive of VAT. This property can also be used for rental income.
In addition to the property investment, investors must deposit at least EUR 30,000 into a Cyprus bank, which will be held as bonds for a duration of three years. There’s an extra requirement of EUR 5,000 for this deposit.
An advantage of this program is that investors are not required to live in Cyprus on a permanent basis. They can maintain their permit by visiting the country at least once every two years.
However, if applicants intend to apply for Cypriot citizenship, they must reside in Cyprus for a minimum of seven years and spend a full year (365 days) in the country before becoming eligible to submit their citizenship application.
Who qualifies for joint cyprus citizenship?
- Spouse.
- Children below 18 years old.
- Unmarried children, aged 18 to 25, who rely on financial support from the investor and have at least six months left in their ongoing studies.
- Parents, and Parents in Law
Key Benefits of Cyprus Residency
Prices on Cypriot real estate grow by 1- 4% every year. The same yield is applied to leases of residential property.
Permanent residence is issued for life. Five years after receiving permanent residence, its holder can apply for Cyprus citizenship and become a full-fledged citizen of the European Union.
Investors may visit Cyprus anytime and stay for as long as they wish. They may move to the country or create a "plan B", with housing and financial safety cushions in Cypriot banks.
Cyprus residents may get an education in local schools and universities and turn to medical help from local facilities.
Investors' spouses and children may participate in the program.
There is no tax on global income and inheritance and low property and income taxes rates. The corporate tax rate is one of the lowest in Europe - 12.5%.
Unlike under many other investment immigration programs, investors with Cyprus permanent residence can buy shares in local businesses, open their own companies or transfer operating companies to the island's jurisdiction.
Cyprus has been included in the IMF list of developed economies since 2001. According to the Human Development Index, Cyprus ranks 29th in the world.
Application processing lasts for about two months, and the entire procedure takes 3+ months.
If an investor acquires citizenship or ordinary permanent residence after living in the country for 5+ years, they may return the investment, for example, by selling their properties.
How to Qualify for Cyprus Golden Visa?
- Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
- Investors must come from a non-EU/EFTA country.

Cyprus Real Estate Investment
The Cyprus Residence Investment Program offers a pathway for individuals and their dependent family members to secure permanent residency in Cyprus by making real estate investments. To qualify, applicants must buy brand-new properties directly from the property developer, with a minimum total value of EUR 300,000. These properties can be used for living or rental purposes. The investment can be divided between a maximum of two properties, as long as their combined worth is at least EUR 300,000. The properties can be owned individually by the main applicant, jointly by the applicant and their spouse, or held by a company where the applicant and spouse are the beneficial owners.
Cyprus citizenship and passport
Cyprus offers its citizens a host of advantages. Situated in the sunny Mediterranean region of the European Union, it boasts pleasant weather, friendly English-speaking locals, top-notch infrastructure, quality education, and healthcare services. The country also provides a beneficial tax structure and opportunities for business growth in a thriving economy. Those holding permanent residency can seek citizenship after residing in Cyprus for seven years and spending a full year (365 days) in the country prior to applying for citizenship.
